Weekly Sunday Worship. You’re invited to worship with us Sunday mornings. Sundays are a time for the entire church family to gather—men and women, young and old, those just exploring t
he faith alongside those who’ve been following Jesus for years. Our services include upbeat music, creative teaching from the Bible, and time to respond to God through singing, communion, prayer, and interaction with others. Sunday mornings are also a gateway— prime time to discover other opportunities to connect, grow and serve throughout the week.
Here is a preview of our Sundays this June:
Follow
“Be a leader!” You’ve probably heard that before. Look around, and you’ll find books and seminars on leadership all over the place. But how about being a follower? How do you do that?
Regardless of what you believe, and regardless of how you behave, Jesus invites us to follow…him. Join us at Catalyst each Sunday in June as we explore how following Jesus may be the first step to leading successfully at work or school, at home, in our communities, and in life.

Each Sunday morning looks something like this:
- 9:30 – 10 a.m. – Arrive at Woodland School, 1410 South McKay Avenue, on the east side of Alexandria. Come in through the SE main entrance, grab a cup of coffee, browse the Connections Center table, check in infants, toddlers and preschoolers in the Early Childhood Wing, meet others and prepare for worship.
- 10 – 10:45 a.m. – Worship and learn together as adults, elementary kids and junior/senior high students in Woodland’s beautiful cafeteria/auditorium.
- 10:45-11:15 a.m. – Elementary students are welcome to go out for Catalyst Kids, a special time of further learning, fun and friendships, while adults and youth continue to respond to God’s Word in worship.
- 11:15 – noon – Stay a while for coffee, juice and donuts; pick up kids; make new friends; help clean up; find someone to invite out to lunch afterwards.
Come as you are—however you’re feeling, whatever your background. But also expect God to show up. It’s good to get our minds off ourselves and on to God and his greatness, and to remember we’re part of God’s much larger story—stretching back to the beginning of time and forward into eternity.
Nursery care. We offer specialized nursery care throughout the morning in Woodland’s Early Childhood Center, with two well-equipped rooms for newborns through infants, and for walkers through three-year-olds, staffed by experienced and loving parents.
Preschoolers. Our experienced preschool teachers lead four-year olds through pre-Ks in a special time of music, singing, stories, crafts and playtime in the Early Childhood Preschool Play Center throughout the worship time.
Elementary. We love kids and want them to feel part of God’s family! We involve kids in worship and engage them in learning from God’s Word. After our Teaching/Learning Time, adults and parents continue to worship while kids grades K through 4 head out for Catalyst Kids—a kid-tailored time with games, fun, and opportunities to respond to God’s Word in small groups led by caring adults.
