Our prayer is that one day we will be serving hundreds of people regularly through our own Catalyst Cares program, as well as through community partnerships, small groups who care for their neighbors, and individuals who serve those in their circle of influence. Right now, there are three areas God is calling us to serve in our greater Alexandria area:
Celebrate Recovery. We already have a number of Catalyst folks serving in this amazing ministry to family members of those struggling with additions and dependencies, adult children of alcoholic or dysfunctional families, as well as people struggling with unhealthy behaviors, relationship issues and various dependencies and addictions. We are currently looking for people to help our Celebrate Recovery ministry in areas like greeting, running the sound system, publicity, set-up and clean up, hosting meals, and more. Woodland School and District 206. Our immediate priority is to serve the greater Woodland School community. One of the best ways is to serve Woodland kids in need through the Lunch Buddies and Match 2 Mentors program. FCA @ the Y. Fellowship of Christian Athletes coordinates a number of Christ-centered ministries at the Alexandria-Area YMCA, including volunteer chaplains, hosts for family fun nights, and more. Contact Tim at turness@fca.org for more information.
